Molly wins at Supertubos. Takes the yellow jersey. Two events left.
Supertubos doesn't forgive. Heavy beachbreak, mostly closeouts, and whoever finds the open barrel on the right day wins. Portugal ran Finals Day over four separate days across the waiting period. But when it fired, it fired.
Molly won the event. Beating Erin Brooks in the Quarters to end her three-event winning streak. Then on to beat Lakey Peterson in the Semis and 2024 World Champion Caity Simmers in the Final. It was Molly's first win of the season and with it she takes the yellow jersey with two events left.
Ethan made the Quarters and opened with an 8.83 against Fred Morais and a 15.73 heat total. He went down to reigning world champion Yago Dora, who found the wave of the day. Connor won the all-DHD opener against Callum in the dying minutes. Liam posted a 12.93 heat total with a 7.53 best wave and still lost.

Molly won at Supertubos. Getting her first win of the season and grabbed the yellow jersey with two events left.
She beat Yolanda Hopkins in her opener with an 8.07, the highest women's wave of the day. Then took out Erin Brooks in the Quarters, ending a three-event win streak that nobody else could touch. Lakey Peterson in the Semis and Caity Simmers in the Final.
The Final was close. Molly opened with a frontside barrel, then sat patiently until she found the wave she wanted, a heaving backhand left for a 7.83. Simmers couldn't answer it. The final margin between the two was less than a point: 13.33 to 12.84.
Molly is now number one in the world. with two events to go. Philippines next, then Pipeline at 1.5x points.

Ethan Ewing
8.83 in a 15.73 heat total. Quarters against the reigning world champ.

Ethan opened with a 15.73 heat total against Fred Morais. An 8.83 best wave. That's elite output at any event, but at Supertubos, with heavy, hollow, mostly closeouts, it's a statement.
In the Quarters he drew Yago Dora, the reigning world champion, who found the wave of the day for an 8.67 barrel. Ethan couldn't find an exit on the rights and went down 15.84 to 3.00. That scoreline doesn't tell the full story. Yago got the dream set wave. When a single barrel decides a heat, it's not about who surfed better across the week.
A finalist here in 2024, Ethan now sits at seventh in the world heading into the Philippines and Pipe.

The comp opened with friendly fire with Connor and Callum in the same heat. Connor took the win in the dying minutes with a 6.83 best wave and an 11.50 heat average.
Round 2 he drew Yago Dora, the same surfer who ended Ethan's run. The reigning world champ was on another level at this event. Connor went down, but the opening heat showed he can scrap with his teammates and come out on top.
Sixteenth in the world with two events left to push up the rankings.

Callum drew Connor in the first heat of the comp. Friendly fire. He posted a 5.83 best wave and a 10.66 heat total, but Connor took it in the dying minutes.
Eighteenth in the world. The Philippines and Pipeline still to come. Supertubos wasn't his event, but the season isn't over.

Liam O'Brien
7.53 best wave and a 12.93 heat total. Still wasn't enough.

Liam posted a 7.53 best wave and a 12.93 heat total. At most events, that's enough. At Supertubos, it wasn't. He went down despite the numbers.
Thirteenth in the world. Pipeline at 1.5x points could change a lot of rankings in a hurry.

Molly won at Supertubos on the MF DNA Round Tail. The board handled everything from frontside barrels, backside barrels, the heavy closeout sections, and the final-winning 7.83 that sealed the yellow jersey.
At 5'8" x 18 1/8" x 2 1/4", it gave her the speed through barrels and the control through heavy sections that Supertubos demands. A 12.25 heat average across the event. An 8.07 in her opener. A Final margin of less than a point against the 2024 World Champion.
The men rode the Juliette and Juliette RT. Ethan's Juliette at 6'1" x 19" x 2 5/8" delivered an 8.83 opening wave and a 15.73 heat total. Liam's Juliette at 5'11" x 18 3/4" x 2 7/16" gave him a 7.53 and a 12.93 that still wasn't enough. Callum rode the Juliette RT at 6'0" x 19" x 2 9/16".
