Punta Roca gave us a proper test.
Tropical Storm Cristina disrupted the schedule mid-event, flooding the coast with heavy rain and turning the lineup brown with river runoff. When the waves did come — glassy six-to-eight-foot walls wrapping around the point — quality over quantity rewarded patience and punished hesitation.
For the DHD crew, it was a mixed bag. Ethan, Connor, and Steph all went out early — the kind of draw where teammates knock each other out and the tropics take the rest. But Callum Robson put together a strong quarter-final run, taking down two teammates along the way, and Molly Picklum pushed deep into the semis, continuing the form that has her sitting third in the world.
